New York Shopping

Hey guys!

Wow! Time really flies by. Can’t believe we’re in the middle of April already. I have written so many blogposts in my head lately and I actually got really surprised when I noticed I hadn’t posted anything in nearly four months. As always it’s something I’ve really been missing and I’ve promised myself to take up on it more times than I can count.

When Martin got his schedule for spring we noticed he had a few days off in April, so we decided I should take some vacation too and make a trip somewhere. We had London, Prague and Toronto on the list but couldn’t really make up our mind. Last Saturday we decided for New York instead and caught a plane the morning after. Since we only had about three and a half day and have been to New York we decided not to do too much sightseeing and spend more time shopping. (Do I have the best boyfriend ever, to agree on such priorities, or what?) Curious to find out what I brought home? Here we go…

Gap Levis Hillfiger

I hate buying new jeans. I struggle to find a fit I like and when I do they are usually crazy expensive. Oh, the happiness when I found these high waist skinny Levi’s jeans for about a third of the price at home.

The beige cardigan is from Tommy Hilfiger. I think it will look great with a simpler dress or with jeans. Perfect for chilly summer nights when a warm jacket isn’t needed.

I love the zip hoodies from GAP. I tend to run around in them at work, so I was in great need of a new one. The pockets are my keys and my phone as I run around in the building, it’s easy to just pull off or open up if I get to warm during a treatment without interrupting the work too much and it fits to the surroundings as my salon is placed at a gym.

Calvin Klein

These tops from Calvin Klein are an absolute favorite since before. Last time I was in New York I got five of them, and was happy to see them in new patterns and colours. Perfect timing to go during spring this time and get them in brighter colours, as I went during fall last time. Works for every occasion, with either jeans or a skirt.

This dress from Guess was a great find! For only $20 at Woodbury Commons I found it nice enough to just hang in the closet until I find an opportunity to wear it. I find it to be more of a fall/winter dress so it might take a while, but it looked nice and was cheap so I just couldn’t leave it. Loving the asymmetric skirt!

Michael Kors

This dress from Michael Kors basically screams my name. It’s a nice and simple fit, with some lovely details, just how I want my perfect (easy wearable) dress. There’s a risk I’ll use this dress too much, making people think it’s the only thing I own! Or not wear it enough because I’m afraid to trash it…

These shoes are probably my favorites from this trips shopping. Loving the fancier looking sneaker style. They will be perfect for everyday use and for a little bit dressier moments too. Maybe I wouldn’t wear them with a sequins dress, but there are most certain dresses in my closet that will go with these for a dinner with friends or a night out with Martin.

Lancome Anastasia Urban decay

Believe it or not, but there wasn’t much beauty shopping this time. Probably because my eye lids got so dry and itchy after the fly I could barely use makeup during the trip. (Hence no inspiration) At least I found a great deal on the Grandiôse mascara from Lanôme, which is my all time favorite, in a pack with their Cils Booster XL mascara base. I also got the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I’ve read a lot of positive reviews on this one and couldn’t resist the curiosity to try. Lastly I got a Liquid Lipstick from Anastasia Beverly Hills in the colour Craft, which I’m also curious to try out.

My budget was a bit tighter this time than during my last visit in New York, but somehow I find that positive. This time I only got things that I know I will get a lot of use out off and I think I did quite a good job getting nice things for the money.

Did you find any favorites in the post? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Workout Playlist

Hey guys,

A few weeks ago I and Martin decided it was time to make some changes in our everyday life. No more candy and sodas on an everyday basis and at least three visits at the gym a week. So far we’re doing quite well, and I’m happy to see improvement on the cross trainer. One thing that is really important to me when I work out is the music I’m listening to. That music is truly far from what I usually listen to, but my music taste is way to smooth and slow for a sweaty hour at the gym. Today I thought I’d pick ten of the songs that makes me pump up the pace a bit from the workout playlist to share with you. Some of them are connected to a special memory, some of them just gives me extra adrenaline. In no particular order;

Top from Rönnisch, pants from SOC

Do you have any workout favourites? I’d love to get some inspiration for my playlist!

Date night outfit feat. Dresslink

Hey guys!

It’s time for the last Dresslink post for now. As I wrote in the last post I got a dress from them as well. Since it’s Saturday I thought I’d share it as some inspiration for a date night look.

I’m still working on getting comfortable with these full figure shots. I still have a long way to go, but at least this time I didn’t delete as many pictures right away as I usually do. The clothes are great, but I think the most I have to thank Dresslink for is the fact that the opportunity to work with them made me get in front of the camera starting to take outfit pictures, without it being a “phone/camera in the hand in front of a mirror”-picture.

Dresslink Dress

This dress was slightly big for me, but nothing two pieces of Hollywood Fashion Tape in the neckline couldn’t fix. (If you don’t own this wonderful invention you should get running for it immediately after reading this post. It’s a double sided tape that doesn’t affect fabric and skin, and is perfect for deep cleavages, hiding bra straps and a lot more)

This dress is just the type of dresses I love. A bit of cleavage, which slims the body a bit if you have big breasts. It’s tight enough to show the curves, but draped nicely to hide a bit of the tummy. I also love the asymmetrical skirt. I haven’t really fallen for the midi skirt trend yet, but as this dress is a bit shorter on one side I like it anyway.

The dress can be found here, for only $6,04 at the moment.

On the pictures I’ m wearing it with flat ballerinas from Primark and an old bolero from Gina Tricot, that is an absolute favorite. It’s very thin and works great with every dress if you just want to cover up your arms a bit.

For makeup I chose a very soft smokey eye and a berry lipstick to add a bit of colour and some autumn feelings.

On Monday I’m going to Paris with Martin for a short trip. I will schedule a post to come up while I’m gone. In that post I’ll tell you about something I’ve been up to lately and share something that inspires me while I do what I do.

What do you think of the outfit posts I’ve been doing lately? Would you like to see more of these?

Outfit of the day feat. Dresslink

Hi there!

A while ago I posted a wishlist with lovely clothes from Dresslink*, and as I mentioned there they have sent me some of their clothes to try. I now have one of their tops and one dress from their collection. You’ll get to see the top in this post, but you’ll have to wait a little longer for the dress.

Now that we’ve moved I have better opportunities to take full figure photos of myself, and I’m hoping to post more outfit posts during the fall. Bare with me though, I’m not really comfortable in front of the camera this way yet, but I’m working on it.

Dresslink top (2)

I really love wrap-around tops so this was an easy pick for me as I browsed the Dresslink website. The front of the top is a bit see-trough so I preferably wear it with a tank top underneath. The arms and back is made from a more opaque, really soft fabric, that makes the top really comfortable to wear. You can find it here for only $3.77 and it comes in both black, grey and apricot. I think a visit at Dresslink will be well worth it.

Today I matched the top with my favorite jeans from Even & Odd, that I found on Zalando Outlet in Berlin, and shoes from New Look that I think I’ve had for at least four years now.

Hope you enjoyed the post!

How would you match this top? Would you like to see more outfit posts like this one?
I’d love to hear your comments!

Buckley London

Hey guys!

Today when I got home from the gym I found a very happy surprise on the doormat. The post man had left a little parcel from England with, not one, not two but three lovely bracelets from Buckley London*. I think Martin enjoyed the happy dance of excitement as I opened it up. Thanks a million!

Buckley London

As you can see I got one in gold, one in rhodium and one in hematite. All three of them can be worn one by one and be a beautiful detail for themselves or together for a more eye catching look. The black one will go perfectly with one of my favorite, more fancy dresses, but mostly I think I’ll use them together.

These bracelets comes from Buckley’s XO♥-collection, and can be found in gold, rhodium, rose gold and hematite. They also offer matching necklaces for those who might be interested in that. The jewelry is made of woven mesh and decorated with charms with pristine crystals. We all know the X O and ♥ symbols, that I think most of us sends to our friends and loved ones every now and then. I really like how they made such beautiful jewelry, that isn’t to girly, using these symbols.

You find the bracelets and necklaces here, but make sure to take a good look at the whole website. Buckley has so many lovely jewelry, I’m sure it will be worth the time.

What do you think of the xo♥-theme of these jewelry? How would you wear these kind of bracelets? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Dresslink Wishlist *

Hey there!

Recently I was contacted by Dresslink wanting me to check out their site. I was happily surprised with what they had to offer. They have a great amount of clothes and accessories, to a very low price. I’m sure you’ll find something you like if you check out the page. I’ve put together a wishlist with some of the pieces that I fell in love with. I think you will notice that the weather is very fluctuating here at the moment, because it’s sort of a mix of summer and fall. Enjoy!

Outfit of the day – Work from home

Hi there!

There are no bookings on my schedule today, so I decided to take a day to work from home. There are always paperwork to do, e-mails to answer and so on. When I worked in the store I had days when I dreamed of working from home, not having to get out of the PJ’s all day and sitting by the computer drinking coffee. I have done this a few times, but honestly, I get so much more productive if I get ready like I would have if I was going to work away from the house. It also helps during business phone calls. It’s so much easier to really listen if you’ve gotten yourself into a working mode.

Today’s outfit is all about being comfortable while working by the computer, but at the same time I want it to be proper enough if I need to leave the house for some reason. I’m wearing stretchy jeans, that are really comfortable but not as sloppy as a pair of sweat pants could be. I’m adding a bit of colour with a basic tee, and since it was a bit chilly in the office I grabbed one of my favorite cardigans. It’s so cozy, but yet good looking! I put the hair up in a simple braid and I’m not wearing any makeup. Normally I would at least put some mascara on to look more alert when I pass a mirror, but I’ve had some issues with an allergic reaction around my eyes, so I’m laying low on makeup at the moment.

PJ Salvage

Hi there!

Long time no see. Things have been kind of crazy lately. Long stories short, we didn’t get the apartment we were looking at, I got sick during our trip to Madrid, two colleagues quit our job (which is quite a lot since we’re only five people in the staff) just before the Christmas sales are about to start and I found an education I want to take part that starts by the end of January. It’s fair to say my head has been ready to explode for a while now.

Since Christmas is around the corner, at least in the retail businesses, we get a lot of news to the store at the moment. A brand new brand for us is PJ Salvage, that makes adorable PJ’s. Cats, dogs, owls, elephants, cookies & milk. They all look lovely! And one of the best parts is that it’s delivered in a pizza box! Who can not fall for that?

Recently we reached a sales goal at work from one of our suppliers, and they were kind enough to let us pick a gift from one of their brands. I had fell in love with the elephant PJ’s, so for me the choice was easy. (Even though I did try the other ones as well, just to be really sure. And Oh, Lord it was a good choice! I’ve pretty much moved in to this lovely piece of clothing. The first thing I do as I get home in the evening is to jump into this one. Maybe I should invest in one more, so that I have one in each of my two homes… And my little fur ball, Max, would like you all to know that it’s totally cuddle approved.

On Friday me and M are going to New York! It has been one of my  biggest dreams since I was about 15 years old, and now it’s just a few days more until it comes true. Overly excited about that! Hit me with your best trip advises if you’ve been there!

Outfit of the day

It’s my time of the year again! Even though I long for every season of the year when it’s about to change, I must say I’m defiantly a fall girl. I love when it’s a bit chilly outside, and I can stay in for a cup of tea and light candles, or dress up in a scarf and jacket and go outside for a walk without getting to warm. And when it comes to clothes this is also my time of the year. Our store is quite cold, so the whole summer I’ve had to put clothes on when I get in, and take it off when I go out. Now it’s the other way around, as it’s supposed to be. The colours now are more my cup of tea as well.

When I was sick last week I treated myself to internet shopping and a new dress for the season to come. It arrived the other day, and I found it to be perfect with the new tights from work. I also got to use one of my favorite nail polishes, that has been a bit to dark for summer.

Yesterday’s shopping

Woke up 6:02 this morning, trying to turn off my alarm clock. Turned out it wasn’t the alarm, but the phone ringing. My boss called telling me she was sick and asked me to start working earlier. I said good bye to my short day and went in for the longest day possible, opening till closing. I also get to go in a few hours earlier tomorrow. But the work I do now will pay off before I go to London and that thought makes it a lot easier. And besides, I do like my job so even if it’s a lot right now, I do have a lot of fun doing it as well.

As promised, pictures of some of the shopping I did yesterday. The clothes didn’t look as good on a hanger, so they might show up on outfit posts in the future.

Can’t just pass Lush without a visit. I’ve wanted to try the lip scrub for a while to see if it’s worth the hype. Also found a T for toes, which I think might be good since I wear shoes for hours every day. It’s supposed to be good for abrasions and with new shoes I hope that will be helpful.
A friend to my sister has the luxury to work at Lush and treated us with a test on the cleanser Let the good times roll. The look and the smell makes it feel like you scrub your face with cookie dough. Leaves the skin nice and smooth!

This Saturday I went to a dinner with my friend who’s moving now. While I was waiting for her I stopped by a store and fell in love with this bag. Yesterday when I got back to have a second look at it they had 10% off. Not much, but I chose to see it as a sign and that we were meant to be.

Got some essentials with nail polish remover, cleanser and a base coat from IsaDora. I also had to try their new gel lacquer, which I’m very excited to try. That was a project for this morning, but I never really got the time. I’ll save it for tomorrow night.

Last but not least, two pairs of shoes. Think they both will be good for work, since they don’t have high heels, but still aren’t completely flat. Also I wanted something comfortable without and still a bit classy looking. The shoes at the bottom seemed perfect for that! The sandals were mostly because they had an offer to buy one pair and get the second pair for half price. I really do like the wedge heel because that makes them nice to walk in and would be good at work as well, now that the spring and summer is approaching.

That’s it for tonight. Hope to be able to catch up on all the blogs I’ve missed tomorrow!
