Makeup tag

Hi there!

Today I’m sharing a makeup tag with you. I thought it would be a fun way to share some of my favorite products and my thoughts on makeup in general. I picked a few questions I’ve found on other makeup tags. Enjoy!

What foundation do you use?

My favorites at the moment are Wake Me Up foundation from Rimmel London and Ultra Light Foundation from Make Up Store

How about concealer

I use Collection Lasting Perfection. A great drugstore option.

What do you think of fake lashes?

I love lashes! Natural, extensions or false lashes… For everyday use I only turn to the mascara, but when it’s time to spice up the makeup for a party or evening out I love to put on some extra umpf with false lashes.

What brand of mascara do you use?

I love mascara overall and love to try out new ones. My all time favorites are Diorshow and Lancôme Grandiôse. I frequently use the Loreal Volume Million Lashes as well.

What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?

I’m a brush-girl so I use brushes for everything. My favourites are from Peggy Sage and Emite Makeup.

Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?

Usually not if I’m just heading for work for a few hours, but if I need the makeup to last all day or for a party makeup, ALWAYS!

For the face?

For special occasions, yes, but usually I just make sure to moisturise the face before applying foundation and I find that good enough.

What is your favorite eyeshadow?

AH! This one is impossible! I love love love the Urban Decay Naked Smokey. And Nude Tude from The Balm. And all my Sleek palettes. And the eye dusts from Make Up Store. And the Makeup Academy palettes. No, I’m not doing this! I can’t pick a favorite.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

I’m a true kohl pencil girl, but recently I found the Precision Liquid Eyeliner Pencil from the Flawless by Sonya collection from Forever Living so the liquid is finally starting to grow on me as well.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Haha! I love this question. I’ve been using the kohl liner for about 13 years now, so I could probably apply it without a mirror without poking my eye now. But when I was younger and started to learn it happened more frequently.

What is your favorite lipstick/lipgloss?

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks (Love the shade on 09 for example) and Make Up Store Lipglosses

What is your favorite blush to use?

Makeup Revolution Blush in colour Love

Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?

Did consider it and did do it. The class I take was pretty basic, focused on beauty, to be able to do wedding and party makeups and work in a makeup store. I would LOVE it if I could take a more advanced class for fashion photos and runway in the future.

Name a makeup crime that you hate.

For me there aren’t really rights and wrongs in makeup, as long as the one wearing the makeup is comfortable with it. BUT, I would lie if I said I didn’t want to go blend peoples’ makeup pretty much daily. Contour and eyeshadows in particular.

Could you ever leave the house without makeup on?

Yes, I do that all the time! I have very sensitive skin and from time to time it really doesn’t want me to wear makeup. At these times I usually prefer go without any makeup at all for six days a week to be able to go all in the last day just to get the satisfaction of a full face makeup. Even when my face has a good period and accepts the makeup I go without it quite often, either out of laziness or lack of time. That being said, I can just as easily do a party makeup even if I’m not leaving the house at all. Just for fun!

This is me today, completely makeup free. The only products I’m wearing on this picture is moisturizers for face, eyes and lips.

Do you think you look good without makeup on?

Well, we all have our good days and bad days and just as anyone I have my flaws, but overall I’m confident with the way I look.

What do you think of makeup?

For me makeup is my passion. It’s a way to express my creativity, and I love to start off with the face as a blank canvas and see the transformation. I love to play with colours and find ways to exenterate the natural beauty of the person in front of me (or myself, of course). I don’t think anyone to use makeup to hide behind, but I love how makeup can give you that little extra boost to feel like the best version of yourself as long as you’re confident with the person underneath.

Makeup Revolution – Pink and brown

Hi there!

Since I’ve been having trouble with my eyes and eyelids for a couple of days I haven’t had the chance to try out all the makeup I got from Makeup Revolution the other day. But yesterday everything seemed fine, so today I was ready to give it a go. I’ve used eye shadows from the Ultimate Eyeshadow Collection, and was really happy with how they came out. The pigment was good, and they were easy to build up and blend. The lipstick is also from Makeup Revolution and is Liphug in colour She’s up all night. The lipstick also has great pigment and is easy to apply. I think it lasts good for a £2.50 lipstick, so I will definitely be buying more of these in the future.

Before I started I had decided for a neutral look, with matte brown shadows, since I was just staying at home. When I picked up my palette that was an impossible mission though. There were so many fun colours, and I just wanted to play around. I ended up with something in between and went for brown and pink.

I know these pictures are far from the best out there, and I’m really struggling to catch the eye makeup on photo. The colours just won’t come to it’s right. I truly hope they will help us with this in school since a lot of our work will be done at home and photographed to show the teachers. If you have any good tips and tricks how practice until then, please let me know!

1920’s look

Good evening!

This weekend me and Martin was invited to a party with a 1920’s theme. A theme I liked since it meant all in on make up. I spent quite a lot of Unfortunately we were working under real time pressure since both of us were working all night, so pictures of the whole outfit and a pictured walk through on the make up fell out of the schedule. You will be able to follow my thoughts in text though.

The 1920’s were much about a light colored skin tone, so I went through my make up collection to find the lightest of my foundations. The choice fell on my Matte/FX foundation from Beauty UK in color 01 Ivory. A light coverage was all I needed to my pale winter skin for this look. A bit of Collection’s Lasting Perfection concealer in 01 Fair was used to brighten up under the eyes. I’m a big fan of bronzer but that was left out this time and I only used a little bit of blush on the apples of my cheek. I picked 2true No.1, which is probably my most used shade.

The eyes got a lot of attention. Starting with the brow, I used my Kohl Pencil from Kicks (Single Espresso) and More Brows from Model Co (Medium/Dark) to shape and draw the eyebrows downwards. With eyeshadows from MUA – Undressed I created a really smokey eye. I used Rose Ash as a base, and Cool Grey and Fuel for the smokiness. Fuel is the darker color of the two, and that’s the one I used for the inner corners and faded out to Cool Grey in the outer corners. The other way around from how most people wear their make up now. To frame the eyes I used a black inliner from Färg and a felt liner from P.S.Love (Primark). With the felt liner I created a wing as well. For the upper lashes I used Diorshow mascara and for the lower lashes I chose False Lash Architect from L’oréal Paris. I find the L’oreal mascara perfect for the lower lashes since the brush is thin and the color is quite dry, which makes it easy to catch the small lashes without painting everything else around the eye black.

The lipstick was deep red applied with a fair Cupids’s bow on the upper lip. I used my YSL lipstick in 204 and a small lip pencil for application.

I was very happy with the look, and I got so much nice response from people at the party. Will definitely go for this look again if I get an opportunity to, or just for fun! It’s really not something I would go for for every day use.

What do you think of the look?

I made the picture black and white to catch the 1920’s feeling, but if you click it you’ll see it in the original colors.

Tutorial – Green eyes

Hey there!

The other day I got the question if I had an olive green eye shadow to recommend, so I thought I’d share what eye makeup I use when I want to match my green wardrobe.

To this look I’ve been using the following:
1. Undressed Palette from MUA, colours Puff and Hazle.
2. Eye shadow from Sephora in colour Python bag No 45
3. H&M eyeliner in Soft Green
4. Felt Eyeliner Pen from Primark
5. Black eyeliner from Färg
6. Diorshow Mascara
7. Lip pen from Makiash in colour 2 cold plum
1. I’m starting off with Puff from MUA all over the eyelid, up to the eyebrows.
2. MUA Hazel over the lid
3. Sephora Python Bag in the outer corners and the crease.
4. Closest to the lash line I use my felt liner, and just above it I use the Soft Green eyeliner from H&M to make the green colour pop a bit more.
5. For the final look I’ve added black eyeliner from Färg inside the lower lashline, the Diorshow mascara and my absolute favorite lipcolour at the moment, Cold Plum from Makiash.
Did you enjoy the tutorial? Something I should keep doing? Anything I should do differently? Comment below to let me know your thoughts.
Also, do you have any favorite colours of eye shadow that isn’t the black/grey smokey eye or the more natural brown/beige look?
See you again soon!

Diorshow

As you may, or may not, know I work next to a cosmetics store. It do happen that I get some samples when I shop there, so when I bought my mother a Christmas gift I got the Diorshow mascare, from Dior obviously. I put it away and forgot about it until I bought some new furniture this weekend and started to rearrange my make up. I decided to try it. I fell in love.

I like to collect things, and have loads of everything. Therefor I tend to buy cheaper things, so I can buy many of them. I think I might rethink that when it comes to mascaras. This was so easy to apply! The brush is quite big, but separates really nicely and I don’t find it hard to handle at all. The lashes didn’t get stuck in each other, not even when I put on an extra layer for more volume. There were no lumps, not even a hint of one. I’m not saying I’ve only used horrible mascaras, even if it sure sounds like it. I’m just so in love with this one I have to make everyone seem a little bit worse, to make this sound amazing.

I’m trying to save up money for the trip to London, so I really shouldn’t buy this anytime soon. I’m not so sure I’ll be able to keep that though. Hopefully this little sample will last for at least a little while.
